The goal of the project is to contribute to the reduction of poverty and food and nutrition insecurity in the South-East of Haiti. The project’s development objective is to increase and diversify household incomes and local production of nutritious food in ways that are resilient to climatic and economic shocks. To do so, the project will focus on empowering households and improve their access to climate resilient productive infrastructure, which will lead to enhanced production, availability and consumption of nutritious food, as well as improved employment opportunities along the value chains.
EFOSE has four components:
Component1: Governance, social inclusion and infrastructure improvement, will aim at improving the enabling environment for inclusive and resilient local food systems.
Component2: Economic inclusion and food security and nutrition improved through investment in diversified and resilient local food systems, will build on component 1 activities, strengthening local production and nutrition, as well as value chains infrastructures and services.
Component3: Project Management
Component4: Support for emergency and disaster response – a not budgeted component that enable to support early action and rapid response to crises that manifest in project areas and sustain resilience and strengthen the maturity of resilience outcomes attainable over the lifecycle of the project.
