Market Gardening Development Support Project (PADMAR) aims to sustainably improve food and nutrition security and reduce rural poverty in the project area. Its development objective is to sustainably boost the income of market gardeners, while strengthening their resilience to the effects of climate change.
PADMAR has three main components:
Component 1: Valorisation and marketing. It aims to i) allow the actors of the sector to forge professional partnerships that better value the products of the sector on local and sub-regional markets, and ii) develop resilient infrastructure that improves valuation and facilitates market access.
Component 2: Improved productivity and production. It aims to i) support resilient market gardening by ensuring market gardeners have secure and sustainable access to water and land and ii) increase market gardener’s productivity and production of vegetable crops in a context of climate change through improving access to improved technologies and techniques.
Component 3: Coordination, monitoring and evaluation, and knowledge management. It aims to create a good articulation between M&E, knowledge management, and communication, and disseminate in multiple media the information generated by the activities of the project.
